3 things I want to see in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2

After the box office success that was Five Nights at Freddy’s, it is no surprise that a sequel is on its way.

They could do a lot of things in the second film, but they have hinted at some plot lines in the first film that I would love to see explored in the second.

So without further ado, these are the three things I want from Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.

From left to right: Bonnie, Freddy and Chica

The Puppet

The Puppet first appeared in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 (game), so what better time to introduce him than in a second film!

The character was heavily hinted at throughout the first film, with many theorists predicting that Garrett, Mike Schmidt’s ‘dead’ brother, will be the spirit possessing the Puppet.

It seems as though they plan to introduce him in the second film, with the credits hinting at the character making an appearance. During the credits, a mechanical voice spells out ‘Come Find Me’. Throughout the game series, this voice has represented the Puppet.

I’ll be very interested in seeing how they choose to make the character work, as their take on the universe is an interesting one to say the least.

Return to Freddy’s

It is obvious that William Afton, now springlocked, is going to play a big part in the movies going forward. As things stand, he is trapped inside Freddy’s, so I would love to see our protagonists return to the pizzeria.

By returning to Freddy’s, we would also get to see the animatronics again. They would likely act entirely different now that they should be completely free of Afton’s control.

I would love to see the final showdown with Afton/Springtrap taking place in the abandoned pizzeria again, reminiscent of the first film.

Explore Vanessa’s character

Alright – controversial opinion incoming.

I didn’t like how they used Vanessa in the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie.

While I like the character herself, and the actress (obviously), it felt as though she was there to tell the audience backstory. I hate when this is done in films, as there are much more clever ways of telling the audience the history of a movie universe.

I thought they were going to kill her off in the final act, which would’ve made the character even worse, but thankfully, she is still alive and kicking (despite being in a coma).

I would like the second film to explore Vanessa’s character more and get the audience to know her. The fact she’s Afton’s daughter is an important fact, but it feels like there is so much more that could be done with her.

They could even go for a risky choice that some people may disagree with and take her down the Vanny route. It would make sense to some extent, with her being Afton’s daughter, but I would rather they avoid turning her into an antagonist.
