Despite claims from Blumhouse that Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has not yet been greenlit, a recent issue of Production Weekly has confirmed that the film is in pre-production.

This means that the film is on its way, as if there was any doubt. After the success of the first movie, there was always going to be a sequel, especially due to the fact that Matthew Lillard (playing William Afton) signed a three-picture deal with Blumhouse and Universal.

With that information in mind, it is no surprise that it has been confirmed Lillard will feature in the second movie.

Piper Rubio (playing Abby) is also set to return, as well as director Emma Tammi.

These returns were first reported by Production Weekly before later being confirmed by Christian Stokes, who played Hank in Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Filming is set to begin in Spring 2024.
